⭐On this date in 2001, Koka Booth Amphitheatre hosted its first official event! The @ncsymphony was delighted to perform in its new summer home to a packed crowd on Wednesday, June 9, 2001, featuring popular live classical favorites! The grand opening was delayed due to flooding, but the one-week wait didn’t dampen the excitement. As concertgoer, Carol Petrie said, “It’s a real community builder,” a sentiment that remains true today. Pride Month commemorates the events of June 1969 in New York, known as the Stonewall Uprising, that sparked a liberation movement in the United States.
